Manganese(III) acetate has a more complicated structure than the formula Mn(OAc)3 indicates. It is an oxo-centered trimer of three manganese ions held together by six bridging acetates.10,13 Three representations for this structure are shown in Figure 1. It is often convenient in discussing reactions of this compound to use one of the abbreviated structures [frequently Mn(OAc)3]
